| NOALIMBA REDEVELOPMENT, BATEMAN
When the client was contemplating the redevelopment of the former Noalimba Accommodation Centre in Bateman as a quality residential estate they approached Blackwell & Associates to provide the landscape architectural services.
Noalimba was first established in 1968 as a purpose built immigration reception hostel for skilled migrants. As such the site has a significant social heritage associated with its former use. Consequently the Heritage Council of WA required that this be interpreted as part of the redevelopment.
