This project presented a number of exceptional design challenges. The first related to the project program – which was put on hold for two years whilst the name of the suburb was being changed. The second was the low budget which, on this occasion had to be spread over nearly treble the landscape area as was usually allowed for.

Despite these constraints the project has won two landscape design awards.

A major achievement in the landscape strategy was the retention of substantial tracts of native bush. This had the dual benefit of conserving this asset as well as providing for a highly sustainable, low water usage landscape design solution.
