The Marlston Waterfront development was a logical extension of the Marlston Hill redevelopment in Bunbury. This patch of remnant industrial land and railway reserve occupied a prime position along the edge of Koombana Bay.

The streetscape treatments applied to the road network and public space layout were largely custom designed by Blackwell & Associates to create a distinctive and unique character for this development.
